Energy Tech High School
Energy Tech students begin taking college-level courses as early as 10th grade and earn their associate degree free of charge. In addition, they participate in various career preparation experiences like internships and offsite technical training to enhance their education experience.
Students learn about saving energy globally. They study renewable and nonrenewable sources, joining community activities for hands-on experience.
ETHS is an Early College Program
ETHS is an early college program that gives high school students access to college courses and career-ready activities during high school. Through university and industry partnerships, ETHS provides access to numerous academic opportunities – such as taking college credit classes or participating in internships – while offering support and guidance as they transition into college life.
Average student progress at this school exceeds that seen at similar schools across the state, yet this should not necessarily be taken as an indicator of its excellence, since effective schools support all students regardless of talent level. As well as offering tailored career training and college prep courses, this program also features unique opportunities such as field trips, industry mentoring programs, and collaborative projects with college students. P-TECH network schools like this one collaborate with local businesses like National Grid. Students in this program receive access to a full schedule of college courses free of charge while working towards earning their associate degrees.
As part of their partnership with LaGuardia Community College and New York City, ETHS students can begin taking college coursework as soon as they enter ninth grade. A variety of college courses aligned with CUNY Pathways can earn both high school and college credit, and some may offer dual enrollment for credit in both systems.
ETHS is a Career and Technical Education School
ETHS provides its students with opportunities for advanced academic coursework and college credit. Additionally, there are career and technical education classes designed to increase awareness of individual interests and post-high school options. Students can select from an extensive array of AP and college-level classes available ranging from computer science, English literature/history/social studies mathematics sciences world languages fine arts.
ETHS takes great pride in meeting the needs of all students while striving to foster creativity and innovation within its classroom environment. Furthermore, its administration encourages all students to engage in career development activities like self-exploration, goal setting, and planning – not to mention taking an integrated approach by including social-emotional learning into its programming.
As part of its response to an incident where two guns were discovered at ETHS in December, District 202 officials have expressed that all potential options must be explored to ensure student safety. In September 2018 ETHS will hire an independent consultant for security reviews of their campus and classrooms.

ETHS is a Public High School
ETHS is a public high school that offers a wide array of academic programs and extracurricular activities, serving a diverse population from Northwestern University and Oakton Community College students to residents living near office developments, technology parks, and light industrial businesses. Over 270 certified staff members, including teachers with master’s degrees or higher, are certified at ETHS; there is also an active alumni association that offers a point of contact for alumni or parents interested in connecting with campus life.
Rendering evidence of its racial and economic diversity, its student body contains 54% underrepresented minority students and 33% low-income individuals, according to U.S. News rankings. This diversity surpasses that found at New Trier Township High School which, though it ranks slightly higher, only enrolls less than 4% underrepresented minorities and only has 2% low-income pupils enrolled.
Racial and socioeconomic diversity at ETHS is evident through participation in Advanced Placement classes, which can give students a significant competitive edge when applying to colleges. Data shows that accessing these courses increases students’ chances of graduating within four years. Over the last decade, our Advanced Placement program has expanded significantly including adding a math support class specifically for ninth graders.
ETHS is a Charter School
ETHS is a public high school that offers an innovative educational model. Here, students learn to be responsible citizens and stewards of their communities through service learning, internships, community partnerships with local businesses, and the chance to participate in various clubs and activities – all in a safe environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
Students attending ETHS are offered college courses from Oakton Community College and Northeastern Illinois University that count as transfer credits – not factored into GPA calculations but do appear on transcripts. Furthermore, through Itineris Articulation Agreement they may take college classes at other institutions while receiving credit through this special agreement program.
ETHS offers many programs and clubs for its students in areas like arts, math, science, business, and technology. Many organizations also feature leadership training that allows students to develop interpersonal skills while exploring interests. Furthermore, the school boasts a robust athletics program with an interscholastic competition team and intramural sports options available to all grades.

Is an open and comprehensive high school located on 65 acres in Evanston (a Chicago suburb on Lake Michigan), serving an approximate district population of 78,000 students from its 65-acre campus spanning the City of Evanston as well as some portions of Skokie.
